Farmers Market

Our center had our first of five free “Farmers Markets” Tuesday, which are open to our clients, and to those who qualify financially.  Last year we had four, and they were a tremendous success, serving an average of over 225 families in a 2 to 3-hour period.  We get the produce from the Cleveland Foodbank (http://www.clevelandfoodbank.org), and it is typically 7,000 to 10,000 pounds of food.  This market we gave away Cabbage, Potatoes, Zucchini, Squash, Apples, Plums and Mustard Greens – we even had a cooking demonstration using some of the produce !
